Today I decided to share a file with a mate, fine.
So what’s the trouble with that?

I have consolidated my relationship with LastPass – finally – becoming (almost) a complete convert. It simplifies password management to the point that life without it, now, would be intolerable.
Keeping all my data safe from thieves and vagabonds has been interesting, to say the least, for a number of years now. Generally, TrueCrypt has been the defacto standard for file and folder encryption, for free.
However, I have been looking at a new (to me), encryption program called “Kruptos 2”, which solves a problem the mighty TrueCrypt can’t handle:
Totally self contained and self decrypting archives!
Well, humm.
It’s certainly the way to go – removing all the duplicated data before you backup, will certainly reduce the ever increasing burden.
However, I am currently trying a devastatingly efficient method of reducing data volumes – one which even most large businesses fail to use.
This last month I have been testing various online services – for home/work use. So far the news isn’t all good – and I have my ISP to thank for this dire state of affairs.
Well, we all do backups, right?
Right now I would have to say yes, it is. For me at least.
Twittering is like machine gunning thoughts out over the web. Posts are too small to contain any real depth and do not impose on the reader to do much but ‘skim’. No offence intended – but it seems to me that this is fine for folk with limited attention spans, I, on the other hand am interested in substance and detail and as such will be moving from Twitter to this blog – possibly permanently.
The blogging ‘device’ suits my purpose and allows for more detailed discussion and debate – as my first steps into the blogosphere will hopefully doubt prove.
Today I signed up for a WordPress account and was pleasantly surprised. In all of 2 mins I was up and running this blog.
Now the hard work has to ensue – as I get the contents and layout sorted!
