Is WordPress the death of Twitter…

Right now I would have to say yes, it is. For me at least.

Twittering is like machine gunning thoughts out over the web. Posts are too small to contain any real depth and do not impose on the reader to do much but ‘skim’. No offence intended – but it seems to me that this is fine for folk with limited attention spans, I, on the other hand am interested in substance and detail and as such will be moving from Twitter to this blog – possibly permanently.

The blogging ‘device’ suits my purpose and allows for more detailed discussion and debate – as my first steps into the blogosphere will hopefully doubt prove.

  1. I see your point, but Twitter and blogging go hand in hand.

    One way to get more readers is to tweet your posts. And then get others to retweet your tweeted posts.

    Also, Twitter helps you keep up on the latest things on the mind of like-minded people, which also gives you more ideas to blog about.

    1. I was formulating the opinion, that life is becoming too short, for ‘heavy’ IT users. If one stops to assess the sheer volume of time spent ‘electronically’, you realise that the quality of the other things in life start to diminish. I my case, photography and mountaineering…
