Is RDM the death of Terminals?

Well, perhaps…

A long time user of ‘Terminals’ and various other connection managers, (used as multi tabbed environments for managing large collections of RDP and terminal services clients), I have recently moved to Remote Desktop Manager as my preferred standard.

For some time now, I have found Terminals somewhat un-reliable in operation, indeed many others manufacturers efforts have been similar, I’m sad to say. Creating a management solution that works across multiple operating systems and connection services, is obviously not an easy implementation task, but I’m pleased to report that so far Devolutions ‘Remote Desktop Manager’ has come out on top.

The ability to use batch processes against collections and groups of terminal clients, import and export of configurations, session cloning etc are all examples of really useful, time-saving features. While these features are certainly not unique, it is the robust nature of the software that impresses most, only time will tell if this is a keeper.
