It simplifies password management to the point that life without it, now, would be intolerable.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->It is just so easy:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Install browser plugin<\/li>\n<li>Create Lastpass account<\/li>\n<li>Login to one of your websites and click &#8216;save&#8217; and &#8216;Autologin&#8217; when LastPass prompts you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From now on, you don&#8217;t need to do anything to login to the website &#8211; just visit it and LastPass does the rest!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>You can also use LastPass generated passwords &#8211; for that extra strength feeling &#8211; as you no longer have to remember them they can be <strong><em>really <\/em><\/strong>complex.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Fab!<\/p>\n<p>However, there are some restrictions which prove that LastPass isn&#8217;t quite a panacea &#8211; yet. There <strong><em>is <\/em><\/strong>an &#8216;offline&#8217; program, that allows you to logon when LastPass is offline or unobtainable &#8211; which covers one of my main issues, but LastPass can not login to applications &#8211; just websites, as far as I am aware.<\/p>\n<p>This does restrict it somewhat &#8211; making KeePass still very hard to beat &#8211; as it will do both &#8211; albeit in a more complicated manner, as a bit of scripting is required.<\/p>\n<p>Where LastPass really blows away all competition, is the simplicity of configuration and <strong><em>seamless <\/em><\/strong>integration into the browser environment: I defy anyone who has lots of passwords to manage, not to be impressed!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>So, LastPass or KeePass?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Well, for me LastPass has the edge &#8211; but only just &#8211; what makes KeePass (still) very attractive is its total portability &#8211; if it had a more streamlined, seamless integration with the browser it would be the no.1 killer app in this arena.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have consolidated my relationship with LastPass &#8211; finally &#8211; becoming (almost) a complete convert.
